Mighty Dolphins in SongfEUSt

SongfEUSt is an occasion for all engineering clubs as well as the SPD fraternity and AOE sorority to showcase their song-writing, singing and performing talents, which was held on Thursday October 2nd, 2003 this year. This time Alpha Omega Epsilon had the privilege of singing our song first. Written by Angela Melick, the song went something like this: "We¡¯re the AOE sorority! We make pride our priority! Take a good look and you will see The dolphin rocks the boat!" At the end of the day, everyone had a lot of fun and the event was quite a success.

Day of the Longboat

On a cold cloudy Saturday, we Mighty Dolphins competed in a ten-person Voyager Canoe paddling race. We pulled up 4th out of 9 to the shore, but several divisions were competing in the same heat, and our final result was a first place finish in the Moore Women¡¯s division with a time of 14:38. The Mighty Dolphins advanced on the next day to the UBC Women Finals against all divisional winners. Shouts of "Power 10 in 3-2-1" were screamed across the waves as the boats vied for the first place finish. Synchronized paddles dipped into the water with their owners' arms screaming in pain. The girls finished with a greatly improved time of 10:56 but in 5th place; however, in all races the team had only nine people while every other team had ten. It goes to show that every girl in engineering counts.

Mother-sister brunch

The first annual "female relatives" brunch, where members brought their mothers, sisters, aunts, etc., to meet everyone, was held on Sunday, March 10th, 2002. Click here for more details.

Eta Camping Trip

The second annual Eta camping trip was Victoria Day weekend, Friday May 18 to Monday May 21, 2001. We went to Chilliwack Lake (same place as last year).

A not-so-short camping story is now available... as provided by Erica.
