KARINE LIM KONG

Hello, I'm Eta's outgoing Chapter President. I am currently on a coop term in Toronto and will be coming back to all the AOE excitement when I return to Vancouver in January. I became a candidate of AOE in my second year and an acitve member in the spring of 2002. During the fall term of 2002, I was Social Coordinator and organized many fun events for the chapter. Last year, I was President and fully enjoyed using the gavel all year! I am currently going into my fifth year of mechanical engineering and will be graduating in the spring of 2005.

As part of my degree, I've taken part in the engineering coop program. This has given me an opportuntiy to go to Calgary to work in the oil patch for eight months and more recently, up to Kamloops over this past summer to work for Highland Valley Copper. I am currently working in the medical industry with Baylis Medical and am enjoying the sights of Toronto!

AOE has been a great organization to get involved in as I have met many interesting people, and have taken part in lots of activities that I otherwise would not have. Last year was an excellent year for our chapter full of lots of activities and great memories. I look forward to being involved with AOE in my final term at UBC!
